If you think I've been away from the blogging world for a while - this is why. I've designed and created my son and his fiance, Kristen's wedding invitations. My task was to incorporate a hydrangea theme with pink, coffee brown and ivory with gold accents. I'm happy

with how they turned out and I'm glad to say they loved them too.

Our First Laughing Stampers Tag Workshop

My friend Mary started a new group called the "Laughing Stampers" and we meet at least once a week at a local church. It is an excellent facility that has every amenity that a group of stampers need. Today, we had our first tag workshop and I was in charge of the designing the first tag. This is it. I used one of the techniques in the 12 tags of Christmas on the read heart in the center. The heart was inked with Fired Brick Distress Ink and then covered in a thick layer of Rock Candy Crackle Paint. We had a 10 people at the workshop and we did what we were supposed to do......LAUGH!!!!!!

Here is my lastest organizational project.

I want to make a notebook of my stamp collection but I didn't want to have to stamp and clean
every stamp so I scanned them all into the computer with my flatbed scanner. I'm going to print
out the pictures and organize them into a notebook.

Here is a slide show of my current stamp collection as of today....I'm sure it will change by the end of
the week...hehehehe

Cupcakes and Baseball

We frequent a local bakery here in Anderson called the Sweetery. They make the most delicious sandwiches and the cakes are on another plane altogether. I have one in my refrigerator calling out my name right now.....Micki.....Micki....
Anyway, they are really nice to us there and they asked if Sam would like tickets to the Atlanta Braves -Florida Marlins game. Well she couldn't get those words out of her mouth fast enough for him tosay Yes Yes I'll take them, please.

I made this card to say a quick thank you for giving my husband and son such a wonderful evening at Turner Field.

It is on kraft card stock. The green baseball field was cut on the Cricut from Everyday Paper Dolls. The cupcakes are colored with Copics and they came from the Hero Arts Cupcakes. The bat, flaming ball and player are all from Fiskars Batter Up Clear Stamps and colored with Copics. All edges were distressed with TH Frayed Burlap. The fence is MS Punch.

I downloaded this cat silhoutte SVG file because it looks just like my cat, Henry. Used the Martha Stewart punch as the creepy walking surface. Black bling from Mike's fits perfectly on the DCWV background paper.

Switzer Summer of Surgery

I have not been a "bloggin'" at all lately.... We have just had the most memorable summer and not one
which we want to ever repeat. Hubby had gallbladder attack and was grounded until it could come out
which was in August....2 weeks later was one day of bronchitis away from pneumonia...then I had to have a Total Hysterectomy and I had a really bad cold at the same time...who likes to cough when you just went through major surgery. Well, it's been two weeks and it's almost the end of Setpember....
So the Switzer Summer of Fun...turned in to the Switzer Summer of Surgery...we are taking it one day at a time...and oh this little tidbit...our 2 week vacation was scheduled the day after my surgery...oh what fun!!!!!

As a lot of you know, I'm a big, big, big news junkie.....I love watching the circus that is known as the United States Federal Government in action. So when this month;s ATC swap's theme was patriotic...I had to throw the two biggest "acts" in Washington, DC, the red Republicans and the blue Democrats. I also added a ticket to the party just so you can attend the show any time you want to.....The flag was added because you know that's what it is all about.....the republic....you and me and all our children.....

Hello friends and family,

Just spent the day with my friend, Mary going to some of the thrift stores in town. I ended up with some old games and more trim and lace pieces.

Today's project is a card that I made for my DIL to be, Kristen. She just finished her work for her bachelors degree from Northeastern University. Coffee is one of her favorite things so I saw this image used on one of my fellow blog group's sites a while ago so I purchased it to use on her card. Image is colored with Copics.

Hello Friends and Family,

I spent the day at my local scrapbook store (LSS) which is Stamps and More by Eleanor in Piedmont, South Carolina. My friend, Mary and I had a great day volunteering, helping customers and playing. Mostly Mary helps with the customers and I just flit around playing with all her Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stamps, creating...going to lunch...then creating some more until the owner kicks us out at closing time. Today my assignment was to make a sample using Ultra Thick Embossing Powder in Pewter. Right away I thought of metal...then gears...then this project came to me.

I used the new Cuttlebug - Clock Works embossing folder to emboss some chipboard. Colored it with Aged Mahogany and Walnut Stain Distress ink. I cut the gears of chipboard also and embossed them with the pewter UTEE and inked them with Walnut Stain. I used a label maker to make the labels....

Hello Family and Friends,

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers who visit my blog. Today's post is a tag I made for a swap at yourpaperpantry.ning.com and was hosted by Kate of Tennessee. I have met so many nice ladies at the pantry and have made some really great friends from all over the world.

My tag was made with a base of grunge board cut into the shape of a tag. I used distress ink to ink the raised areas of the grunge board. I used Sure Cuts A Lot to cut a bird cage SVG and then cut out the center to make the hive. I placed to layers of netting, black and gold behind the hive. For the honey, I colored UTEE with butterscotch alcohol ink and melted it on to the netting. The bee is a dollar stamp from Michael's or Joann's..can't remember which. The flight path of the bee is a cloth wire from my stash.
The charm, which represents dripping honey, is vintage beading from the thrift store...

Hi Y'all,

Tomorrow is Gramps' birthday...my father-in-law.... He's is a very nice man who collects clocks and loves my cats so in my book he's good!!!!

I made a card for him that I hope he likes.

I used the Tattered Angels Clock stamp and Glitter Screen along with glimmer mist on a chipboard background. The design paper is DCWV Mariposa collection. Base is craft. The sentiment is Inkadinkadoo and the kitty paper clip is from Staples...I used my new Making Memories paper and ribbon slot punching tool to punch the holes for the black ribbon from my stash. The embellishment is an old earring from one of my thrift store hauls.

Hello Friends and Family,

I have another card for you today...I used the honkin' big Accu-Cut machine at my LSS to cut out the card base with the window/shutter opening. Stamped the image a few times, colored with Copics and paper pieced the jars and popped them up on pop dots. I "built the shelf with two pieces of paper one for the base the the other mitered on the edges and distressed with mahogany colored distress ink...(I forget the actual name of the ink color)... When I folded the shelf in half I used my finger to color the front edge of the shelf with distress ink.
Haven't added a sentiment because I don't know what I'm going to use the card for.....

I have been as busy as a beaver today. I was organizing an international swap at Your Paper Pantry where I am the chat room moderator. I assigned partners today and we have ladies swapping from countries like Norway, Australia, Denmark, the UK, New Zealand, Ireland and Canada. The base is a Staples shipping tag, which I scanned and used my SCAL program and Cricut to cut the backing for the tag.

I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Glimmer Mist, a Martha Stewart Grass Punch and Prima Flowers.

The stamp is an Inkadinkadoo wooden bunny stamp.

I used brown floral wire and Copper Penny Incredible yarn ribbon for the tie.

Hey Y'all,

I definitely had a crafty day today....after a nice cup of coffee and some you tubing, I headed off to my LSS and joined in on the fun at Copic Play Day! I colored three images, two in the morning then one in the afternooon. I couldn't wait to get home and make this one into a card....

I'm naming her Aunt Faye....we all have one in our family....The one that has four children but only talks about the perfect one named Marcia. (When we all really know that Marcia is not perfect at all.) Aunt Faye who married Uncle Stanley who never gets a word in edge wise and spends all his time out in the garage building bird houses. Aunt Faye who thinks all her nieces and nephews need advice...

Discover Joy

Hey Friends,

Coming to you tonight with thoughts of the dentist chair this afternoon. Yuck...fillings!! But all is done now for another six months. Our dentist is in Peachtree City, Georgia which is on the other side of Atlanta from here so I always take the chance to visit places like JoAnn's and Archiver's...found some alphabet stamp sets for 97 cents a piece...You know I can't pass up a bargain!!!
----and I didn't pass up the new kitty stamps either...hehehehe.

My local scrapbook store has a Thursday Copic Play Day and I colored this image there. It is using a Hero Arts stamp. The design paper is 7 Gypsies St. Augustine. The sentiment is K & Company Brenda Walton embossed sticker. The brackets are W R Memory Keepers Vintage Blue. The ribbon is American Crafts that I picked up at Michael's. Rounded the corner of the cards with the Corner Chomper.

I actually woke up one day at 5 am and made this card. Maybe I should do all my cards half-asleep, I think it was the easiest one I've ever made.

Scott's Masters Recital Invitation

It has been an assembly line here in Micki's Studio on this Sunday afternnoon. I made ten recital invitations for my son's Masters of Music Recital at Yale in April. Can't you just hear the pride in my typing!!!

I promise that I have been crafty this week!! Really!! I haven't posted anything all week and I was just sensing that you all were just waiting by the computer, checking your in-boxes, and your blogs waiting and waiting...Ohhh where's Micki...has she posted yet?? How can go through the week without seeing a post!! Well, you can all put your minds at rest!! Here I am.....

Actually, I've been working hard on a mini album for a swap, getting together a swap for a lady in Australia and today I took a class where I made a Copic Swatch book. That was really interesting. The teacher also gave us some pointers on using the Bind-It-All which I got this week with my Hobby Lobby coupon.

I'm going to post my pictures of some May flowers in hopes that the spring like weather will last until May!!!!

Haven't made a post in a while...but I finished this card just for fun. I used the acrylic insert from a Tim Holtz swivel clasp package, wove the ribbon in and out and tied on the ribbon. DP is DCWV Glitter Stack...Sentiment is KI Memories Verbology Stamps. Used Corner Chomper to round the corners.. Embellies are Prima flowers and antique buttons.

Pick of the Litter..................

Just finished going through, pulling apart, untwisting, untangling the broken jewelry that I bought last week. There was some real finds in there. Also, there is a video in the works of the best "jewels" but it won't be done until the next few days. I gotta edit that thing because....well let's just say the videographer wasn't a very good director....(ME)
I've been thinking every day that I need to make a card but I just couldn't get in the mood....I could organize the craft area but I just didn't have any mojo.... I guess it came back tonight because i got out my new stamps, trimmed them up and started stamping......

Vintage Valentine Tag Swap

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I signed up to partipate in a tag swap with Arlene on youtube and Life At The Srapbeach. The theme was Vintage Valentine and I was assigned to group three.

I used the Avery 110005 Shipping Tags from Staples as the base for my tag. I distressed the edge of the tag, sprayed with glimmer mist and then used Distress Ink around the edges with two different colors.

I then stamped and embossed the image. The stamp I used was Party Hat Cats from Lost Coast Designs. Embossed with black Craft Essentials embossing powder from JoAnn's and black Crystal pigment ink.

Them embellishments were glued on with Glue Dots glue lines and small glue dots. I cute the leather heart out by hand and the whole tag was sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist to give it a sparkle.

My son Scott turns 24 today and I want to write this message to him to let him know what a wonderful man he has become.

From the day he was born, he has brought nothing but happiness to our family with his everlasting smile and his good nature.

Scott was reading when he was three years old,

doing algebra at five.

playing bassoon at ten, re-writing symphonies at fifteen,

graduated with two degrees at twenty-two

and now is on full scholarship at Yale graduating in May with a Masters in Music.

He is engaged to a wonderful girl named Kristen who is just like a daughter to me.

He has never balked at hard work, faced everyday with a smile and has more talent in his little finger than I do in my whole body. I couldn't be more proud of my youngest son!!

Mother's Are Right!!!

I become more like my mother every day!!! Last night she called and asked me why I haven't called her in a while..(I talked to her just a few days ago)...anyway....
This is the same thing I asked both of the boys just yesterday....

Mini Love and a Good Man!

Hey Y'all,

Did I get your attention with the title? LOL

Well I'm talking about a mini-album and a good husband who did a couple of scrap room projects for me today.

I have been a busy beet working on a valentine mini for Scott and Kristen.... worked solidly from 2 pm until 10pm, didn't even stop for dinner. Completed mostly everything but the binding so I wanted to give you a sneak peak...AND to show you I haven't been a total "slack" since last week.

Here is the front cover...I'm going to do a video hopefully tomorrow with all the details....

Russell put up a new light above my peg board in my office and ....I CAN SEE!!! I CAN SEE!!!
Also, I had a great idea to organize my stamps...At IKEA, they have THIS. Russell ran
in it under my cabinets and I hung all my clear acrylic stamps from it with these clips that I had from a curtain project...It is working out really, really well....that's another video I need to do soon..... to show you my new stamping area I set up...

Are you up for watching something totally different. Another one of my hobbies is creating slide shows...with a program called Proshow Producer. It's the advanced version of it's little brother Proshow Gold.. These are some of the best programs out there for creating slide shows...and I highly recommend it if you are at all interested in this sort of thing.
In 2008, I was able to visit Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone and took a "few" pictures...a few thousand pictures. All photos were taken with the Canon 5D and various lenses....
Below are a couple of the landscapes I took on the same trip.....

Three Reasons to Support Local Charity Thrift Stores!!

Hey:

Today I went to three local charity thrift stores, had lunch, rented two movies and had dinner with my husband, Russell. We went to a restaurant that those in this area call a meat and three...I had Chicken 'n' Dumplins, Fried Okra, Green Beans, Biscuits and Banana Pudding and Iced Tea... This my friends was some fine food..
The only thing crafty I did today was make a haul video....check it out...I got some pretty good stuff for cards and albums...
Oh...and I just finished the movie...He's Just Not That Into You....and it was a definite 2.5/5 stars...glad I didn't see it in the theatre. I might let Russell take me to the movies tomorrow to see Avatar...if he's good.

Are You Ready For Some Football!!!!!

My parents (Mother and Rodney) have a group of friends that get together every year for a Super Bowl party and this year is their turn to host...told her I would make her invitations which is what I did today. When I looked through my stamps, I couldn't find anything that fit a football theme....Oh, if I had to make a card about owls or cats or coffee or flowers or flourishes...I'm covered... Learned today that I have major holes in my repertoire of stamps..... Any who*****

This card qualifies for the Designing D.I.V.A.S. Monthly challenge...the requirement was stitching..real or
faux... and I'm a faux kind of girl all the way but I decided to actually sew on this card...didn't know I could actually do it.
Here is the invitation:

I started with a heavy-duty chocolate brown card stock base cut at A2 size and scored down the middle. Layered on the Touchdown by Reminisce DP..this paper is double-sided...

The "field yardage" paper (alternate side) was edged with the MS Grass edge punch. I used Tea Dye Distress Ink to distress all the edges of the layer paper.

For the football, I downloaded clipart from the internet and cut out a whole 12x12 page of footballs 3" wide on my Cricut, using the Sure Cuts A Lot software. I ran the footballs through the Cuttlebug using the Tiny Mosaic folder to give it that leathery look. I got the idea for the leather on the home page of SCS the other day (Wallet Project). I then embossed the debossed side of the football with Zing Chocolate embossing powder. Used a paper piercer to pierce holes in the center cut-outs and stitched with embroidery thread (half strand doubled). Adhered to card with Stampin' Up dimensionals. Ran the ribbon through my Xyron machine and attached. I roughed up the edge of the ribbon and used a Tim Holz edge distresser to roughen up the edges of the card. I stamped the inside of the card with a foam "You're Invited" stamp I finally found in my stash using Brilliance Moonlight White.

I have got to get these invitations addressed and in tomorrows mail....or mother will have my hide...or pigskin...which is more appropriate for the occasion!!!

Chipboard and Old Lace

Hello Friends,

Yesterday was my big workshop at Archiver's in Buford, Georgia which is about 1.5 hours from home. I met some really nice ladies in the class and a couple of them were on their way to scrapbook retreats for the weekend....what fun!! Two friends had rented a house in the North Georgia mountains....
If anybody lives near an Archivers, I really recommend this workshop.
After my lunch at Moe's Southwestern Grill, I headed back east to the Lavonia Antique Market to look for anything vintage I could use on cards or albums...and lo and behold I found a whole box of vintage trim...you gotta check it out on the video.
By the way...William "Yammer" Binks though I couldn't tape this video without his supervision. Do you think my yelling at him to get down worked?? Yeah..right!!

Gotta go see what I can get into today....I need to rearrange my studio......but what I need to do and what I want to do are well......diametrically opposed!!!!

Hello Friends,

I'm sitting here with a cat in my lap (Henry) and one on the back of my chair (Mr. Binks) helping me post my card for the Glitterbee Challenge. This is a card of Firsts!!! It's the first time I've used my Serenade Cricut cartridge and my new cardstock I bought at Gina K's. This is the first card I have ever entered into a challenge, the first one I've ever made specifically for my blog, and the first one I've made from a sketch.
Here is how interpreted the sketch:
I've used the curve of the birdcage and the curve of the sofa arm to represent the half-circle. The collar on the kitty represents the bow and the sentiment is used instead of the three brads on the upper right. The wide rectangle is the sofa and quilt and the other is the curious kitty......

Four Hours Later :

It took me fooooorever to make the card and even longer to figure out how who manufactured all the materials I used. The sentiment stamp is still a mystery.....I even looked on ebay to try to find the name...
Oh well.............................

Hey Friends,

Yesterday morning, my son Sam and I set off on "my" big adventure of hitting all the craft stores in Madison, Wi...well as many as we could stand in a day. Sam is such a trooper...just went along for the ride so I wouldn't be lonely; he's a good son. First stop was a stop in McFarland, just south of the city to visit the retail store of stampTV's Gina K. It was regular sized store but they were hopping in there filling internet orders. I browsed every item and all the sample cards and made my purchase, introduced myself to Gina...but I didn't take her picture...I felt too weird about that.

Gina K Haul included :
Card Stock (1 package each of Pure White, Pure Ivory, Ocean Mist, and Neutral Assortment)
6X6 Basic Grey paper pad from the June Bug collection
and
My big purchase was the Showtime Stamp Kit: Ecclectic Summer. I really liked the hot air balloon stamp included in this kit.
I also hit the Wisconsin Craft Market, 2 different Michael's, JoAnn, Tuesday Morning and Archiver's. I really enjoyed Archivers...the ladies in there were so friendly. Oh and just to let you know...I did bribe Sam with Barnes & Noble....and lunch and dinner.

Haul, Haul, Haul

First of all, I want to thank you for the warm wishes for my mother's recovery. She came through her surgery just fine and was back home the same day. Today she was up changing the placemats on her table, so I think she's doing pretty well.... It wasn't quite as cold today, got up into the 20's here in Wisconsin, I think it was in the 40's at home in South Carolina. I haven't seen my husband in almost three weeks so I just want to tell him (when he reads this) that I miss him. I'm not usually very "lovey dovey" so I think he will be in shock with my last statement.
     Being away from home, the only form of entertainment that I have is of course, my computer and shopping. I go out every day to scower the back aisles of the stores to see what I can find.   I have scavenged some really great deals on my trip and I made my first haul video today with my camera but as per usual there;is a problem.....I only have a compact flash card reader for my laptop and my Canon G10 uses an SD card so I can't upload it. It was fun to make though...shaky...you will probably need dramamine to watch it.
Today, I went to Hobby Lobby and used a coupon on my iPhone. Yes, there is an app for that....it's called "Yowser" or "Yowzer"...it downloads coupons from certain stores that you can show the cashier and use them like paper ones. Hobby Lobby is one of the participating stores.... I loved it...I felt so "technologically with-it". On my haul today, I got a bunch of Christmas ornaments that I'm going to take apart to use as embellishments on cards and mini-albums. I used my coupon for some Aidorondak alcohol inks..my total bill was only $15.00.
     I have so many projects to do when I get home....Super Bowl Party invites for my mom and some sympathy cards (not my favorite but necessary).
Speaking of spending money...Have you guys found any really good deals online?? Let me know...
     I just found out that the stampTV's GinaK's retail store is near Madison, Wisconson and I plan to visit that later in the week....along with other scrapbook stores in the city....I've just about exhausted the stores in this town...gotta branch out!!

End of Year Theme!!

It's the last day of the year and I'm sitting alone in my room at my mother's house in the great white North. This year is ending exactly as it started...hubby working, Sam & I on the computer, and Scott and Kristen at a party in NYC. It is not such a bad thing...status quo..same old, same old.... It is better than reverse!!!
I'm pretty happy with the way this year unfolded, it was a pretty happy year. If I could give the year 2009 a theme it would be...Plan and when things don't go as planned....re-plan!! So 2009 at the Switzer house was the year of the Re-Plan!!!! I wonder what the theme of 2010 will be?? I will hope for more travel, more friends, more creativity.....and less planning!!

Tips for Photographing Cards

Hello Friends,

Since I am away from my scraproom I thought I would post a few tips for photographing your cards.

LIGHTING....is the single most important thing in your photograph. Photographers love the light coming in from a north-facing window. If you have one...use it..I don't have one so I have to make do. If your photo always comes out with a funny color....too green, too yellow, too blue...it's the kind of light in your room... Flourescent bulbs can make your picture a funny green or yellow color...LED light is really, really blue.... Each kind of light has a temperature (no, not a fever)...

Use a background....like a solid color pice of cloth. This will help the viewer just focus on the card. Have the background really really flat with no wrinkles or really crumpled with lots of wrinkles.

Props - If you use props around your card, don't over do it so that it takes the viewers eye away from the card. Your hard work is the subject...not the things around it. Use props that add to the photograph not take over the photograph.

Offset - Just like when making your card....you don't have to always have it in the center... If you offset your card...always have it facing slightly into the picture....not facing out of the picture. This will lead the eye to move off the photo.

Use different angles - I always enjoy viewing a photo that isn't just a straight view to the front of the card. Move your camera all around for different angles....

It's snowing here in Wisconsin today, but for a southern girl like me...it's a nice change. My mother is having surgery here next week so I am staying at her house an extra couple of weeks to help out. Her gallbladder is "kaput"...the surgery is outpatient so her recovery will be pretty quick. I'm going to check out a local scapbook store today that has a really good selection of paper....I'll let you know what I find...
Hopefully, I will venture out in the cold soon and take some pictures....

Wedding Dress Shopping All to Ourselves!!

We had a very wonderful day yesterday at Brides Number One in Milton, Wi. My mother works there and the store is normally closed the day after Christmas so mother, Kristen, and I had to store all to ourselves. It was a once in a lifetime experience to have a whole store on our own, trying on any dress you wish and being able to pick just the right one. She is going to be a beutiful bride for my son, Scott. I took quite a few pictures but I'm not going to post any. I don't think I would like to ruin any of the surprises of the wedding day....plus, I think it would be bad luck but I hope she likes the pictures. All three of us had the best day and we appreciated her sharing the experience with the in-laws. By the way----the dress is just beautiful and fits her personality to a tee!!!

Every year the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas gets shorter and shorter. I bet you heard all the "old folks" in your family say that when you were young. I love the time leading up to Christmas, it has always been my nature to like the anticipation more that the actual event..don't know if that's good or not but it is what it is. Today is the day to pack up the car to go "over the river and through the woods to grandmother's house". Sam is packing extra because he is going to stay in the snow until after the Super Bowl. Embrace the anticipation!!!

A Binks Brothers Christmas

Santa came to our house yesterday and brought the kitties a Cat Tree. It was a big hit as you can see, each cat has a level. Mr. Binks (lower level) likes to play fetch with his mice when we throw them into the levels. Henry (top level) likes to jump from the top to the floor... Yammer (middle) played with it a while and then went on his merry way to do his own thing. He doesn't need these juvenile entertainments. If anyone is interested in purchasing one for their feline friends, we got it at Costco.

CopiC Pen Club Trial

I happened up on a Copic Marker Cllub class this evening when I went to the Funkie Munkie Scraps store in Greer. That is a really nice scrap store with very helpful staff who make you feel so welcome. Copic Markers are an alcohol based ink marker used in card making. Tonight we tested out different types of paper to see which ones we like and which ones we didn't. Since I was the 'rookiest" I was just glad to be a 'colorin". But I think it's something I would really like to learn more about; shading and color families.

Oh I also had my hair done today...took out some of the blond...a wintery look for Christmas... All in all it was a good day. Sam and I spent a lot of time driving and he said he had fun too. TTFN....

Great Card Class

Hey All,
I took a card class tonight at Scrapnesia in Greenville, SC with Angie. All the ladies there were really nice and I learned a few new tricks to add to my bag!! I am posting a photo of all the cards I made. The dandelion card was all about sanding cardstock and using dew drops. The small card is a gift card holder, the green background was using Versa Mark Ink and StazOn Ink on glossy paper., and the fish card was made with a zippy bag and shampoo.... What a blast!! Shampoo and zippy bag!!!

My Office During Christmas Card Time

Hey,

OK...I am an organized person but this is what I hate most about cards...the mess! Just look at it. If I could learn to put things away as I use them...well that would be a good trait to have. When I get going on the project....I have to get it done. It's like I'm in some kind of a race to the finish, the first one done with the card wins!! Anyway, I hate it when I see pictures of people's work spaces and they look all neat and organized. Ask them!!! Ask any of them if it is ever like that for more than a minute, if they say yes they are lying. Oh, I can keep my room clean but only if I sit at the computer all night and day.
A little about my office space...or studio space which sounds more official to me. That's what I'm going to call it from now on...Micki's Studio. When we bought the house this space was the dining room and we didn't need a dining room. We have a breakfast area where the table is so when we gutted the main floor, I designed my office with scrapbooking in mind. I love love my pegboard...it's my favorite. I rearrange it all the time. After Christmas I will post some of those "fake" non-productive pictures.....when it's all organized.

I wanted to do something special for my children up North for their first Christmas in their first apartment so I tried creating a mini chipboard album.
Album is from Michael's...$1.00 find. all paper is Die Cuts with a View. For the snowflake embellishments, I went to the dollar store and found a Christmas garland which I dismantled and used the pieces which saved me a bit of time die-cutting.
The stamps used were # 20065 Purr-fect Holiday from the Max and Lucy series at Stamps Happen, Inc. Fullerton, Ca. (Made in the USA)...Yeah
On the back I used my special order stamp from paperangel.com's online catalog which has my name and email address and a cute kitty in the middle. It took me about 6 hours to make this card.
In order to make the pattern for the paper and to convice my self I could do it... I scanned in the santa hat shape and traced a bitmap in Inkscape...saved as an SVG so I could use SCAL to send to the Cricut Expression.
I also used the RoundCatSVG from lsshdesigns.blogspot.com/.

Hi....

It's official now, I'm addicted to cards and cats...cats and cards. I just got a new Cricut
Expression and Sure Cuts A Lot.... I can't stop the madness. Henry Binks, one of my cats
thinks watching the new Cricut is as good as watching the new printer..... I am in the process of creating my Christmas cards for this year.....
